Happy Fresh List Friday to My Smith Mountain Lake Family!So! After a Spring Full of very varied cold spring-like weather, and hazy hot and hellish 90’s
we are now in a drought on both land and lake — to be clear,
the lake is good for boating and swimming but we need more water for our reservoir!
We are currently down almost 6′ — lake levels on the SML app say otherwise, but I have been able to stand next to my dock and reach up to touch it, with dry shoes, nearly 46’away from the shoreline.
IF this IS just a drought, then we haven’t seen the likes of it since about 2012; however, I’ve never seen the lake this low since moving here in December of 2000.
Lawns look a little crispy, but we also have rights to use the lake to pressure wash our docks and water our plants! That is, if you are lucky enough to have deep water under your water pump foot valve…sigh…
That bein said– we should all be conserving water at this time anyway.
Lake life is fun…to be completely honest!
Every day brings something unexpected, but beautiful!
