Sending Big Love From Smith Mountain Lake!
During these unprecedented times, I thought I would just send a quick message of hope in the face of hopelessness, abundance in the face of lack and resilience in the face of fear. We are not immune to what is going on right now, but we can band together and at least dream……after all, you are my virtual Smith Mountain Lake family.
Just because we live on the lake, doesn’t mean that we are untouched by what is going on…
The Smith Mountain Lake Community is banding together with shop local, new no touch businesses, and some of the restaurants have converted into delivering meals to seniors and those in need with donations from those who can afford to give a little.
But all in all, as a New Jersey transplant myself, (here for over 20 years now), this is a much simpler life than in other Metropolitan areas, and for that, I am truly grateful.
- We know our farmers and shop owners by name.
- We have emergency back up plans in place with our friends and neighbors.
- We don’t need to beg, borrow or steal.
- We take care of each other.
I’m proud of ALL of my families.
Stay Strong My Friends!
P.S. Governer Ralph Northam of Virginia, has ordered a stay-at-home order for Virginians.
for those of you who don’t know–we are one of the ONLY STATES that can say that our Governor is a Medical Dr.
The Virginia Association of Realtors; as well as the National Association of Realtors have contacted Gov. Northam directly to ask whether or not Realtors CAN WORK and he has assured us that WE CAN if we practice all of the guidelines…
For us, that means: Virtual open houses, Virtual showings, Virtual coaching calls for our clients and on Showing Days: Separate cars, gloves and masks or bandanas AND anything else we all deem necessary, to keep ourselves safe, 6 ft Social Distancing and disinfecting anything we can as we go (shoes, doorknobs, steering wheels, etc…) and washing our hands at least 8 million times during our days.
You might ask “why” we can work, when a lake house is probably the furthest thing from your mind, but it’s because the housing market is still vital to Virginia’s overall economy….and Realtors are self-employed 1099’rs–
I just wanted you to know that I’m always thinking about you and all of your family stories,
[those “needs, wants and nice-to-haves” BEFORE this happened]
So, feel free to share your current stories…
THE GOOD, THE BAD, AND THE UGLY—
I’ve got broad shoulders!
All the BEST!
